This website will provide you with information on Cornell and community programs, resources, and policies of particular interest to pregnant and parenting students. Cornell recognizes and supports the unique challenges that students with family responsibilities face in achieving their goals related to higher education.
We hope that you will take the time to explore this website and contact the appropriate departments/agencies for further information. The Student Child Care Grant Program will be administered through the Financial Aid offices and Graduate School (no longer the Office of Human Resources) and will not be the same as the faculty/staff child care grant in timing, process or amount.
The deadline for application will be Friday October 16, 2009. Awards notifications to be made after December 1, 2009 for an annual award for the 2009-2010.
Qualifying information: Students with children and a household income of less than $60,000, who have at least one child enrolled in daytime or afterschool care in a legal childcare arrangement, and both parents either in student status or fully employed, will be eligible for a one time flat rate grant per child. Flat grant awards are expected to be $1500 per infant/preschool aged individual child and $750 award per school aged individual child for period August 2009-August 2010.
