Student Health Plan (SHIP) - 255-6363, 409 College Ave, Suite 211
This office can review with you any plan benefits provided by the Cornell Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), including the "Beginning Right Maternity Program," and coverage related to pregnancy, delivery, parent education, and support. This is also the office to contact if you wish to add a dependent (spouse, same sex partner, or child) to your SHIP coverage. If you are currently parenting and in need of finding a pediatrician who accepts the SHIP, visit the website for details.

If you are not a participant in SHIP, staff members in the Office of Student Health Insurance can help point you in the right direction so that you can get your questions answered. Please note: every health insurance plan works differently, so your own plan's administrator will be the expert to whom you will turn.

Child Health Plus - 1-800-231-0744
New York State has a health insurance plan for kids, called Child Health Plus. Depending on your family's income, your child may be eligible to join either Children's Medicaid or Child Health Plus. Both Children's Medicaid and Child Health Plus are available through dozens of providers throughout the state.
To be eligible for either Children's Medicaid or Child Health Plus, children must be under the age of 19 and be residents of New York State. Whether a child qualifies for Children's Medicaid or Child Health Plus depends on gross family income. Children who are not eligible for Medicaid can enroll in Child Health Plus if they don't already have health insurance and are not eligible for coverage under another plan.

Family Health Plus
Family Health Plus is a public health insurance program for adults who are aged 19 to 64 who have income or resources too high to qualify for Medicaid. Family Health Plus is available to single adults, couples without children, and parents with limited income who are residents of New York State and are United States citizens or fall under one of many immigration categories.

Prescription Meds Access Program, Health Planning Council - 272-9331
Assists Tompkins County residents without prescription coverage in finding low-cost or free prescription medicine.  Individuals who do not have coverage are helped to find an agency to help them apply to a public health insurance program.
